This website celebrates my 15-year journey from writing my first series of essays to publishing my book, Savoring Life’s Spiritual Journey: The alchemy of transforming everyday experiences into life changing events.

What a journey it has been! Over those 15 years, there were several times when I started the process of publishing my book. Then life happened. My plans for steamrolling my way to publication were turned topsy-turvy by the deaths of family members and close friends; crises that come with raising kids; and serious health issues (my own and others). Each of those plan-halting events spun me around and took me on an unexpected side trip. Sometimes the postponements put my book on the back burner, other times it went into the deep freezer.

No matter how long or painful the detour was, I always came back from being sidelined with new insights into how I wanted to create my book. Time away from my project gave me a new perspective. Whether it was adding a new story or changing the exercises at the end of an essay, each break improved the final book.

Looking back on my journey, I can say it has been a massive learning experience. It feels good to be on this side of the adventure in publishing. I am thrilled to see my book published and available for people to read.

When does a personal story become a lie?

I recently asked myself this question, when does a personal story become a lie? The question arose when I realized I had lied to some of my oldest friends. It was during a Zoom gathering when I shared
